ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The text reads, "The new Lincoln Highway approach to Pittsburgh from the east has eliminated many curves, and expedites traffic through a thickly populated district. The beautiful George Washington Memorial Bridge is a part of this project, and is considered one of the outstanding engineering feats in Pittsburgh. In a huge cut, at the eastern end of the bridge, 249,000 cubic yards of rock and earth were removed by two hauling contractors, using forty-four heavy-duty Internationals. The exceptional performance and operating economy of the first International trucks in these fleets has lead to the purchase of more Internationals as the requirements of both haulers grew to their present large proportions. These contractors have done all the hauling in the various cuts and fills, and have found that sturdy Internationals fully measure up to the difficult tasks of earth removal and excavating service."
