Badger Spelling Bee Officials
Badger Spelling Bee officials meet to discuss both the Madison finals and the state finals. Armand Ketterer, seated in center, principal of Franklin School and adviser to the "Wisconsin State Journal's" bee since it began in 1948, is flanked by the two judges of the city finals. At his left is Helen Matheson, assistant managing editor of the "Wisconsin State Journal". At the right is George Blackman, principal of Highlands-Mendota Beach School. Standing, left to right, are J.W. (Bill) Clark, Dane county agent, who is the perennial master pronouncer at the state contest, and Wallace Wikoff, Spelling Bee director. |
