Map or Atlas
Farmer's Rail Road & Township Map of Wisconsin and Chart of the Lakes
This map, which includes eastern Iowa, northern Illinois and a portion of Michigan's Upper peninsula, shows the township survey grid and identifies counties, named towns, rivers, lakes, Indian reservations, and railroads. Tables give the 1870 populations of Wisconsin counties and principal cities and villages, as well as the stations and distances between them for various Wisconsin rail lines, and the governors of Wisconsin state and territory. Text provides a brief history of Wisconsin, a description of "ancient mounds" and data on agricultural production, timber, and lead mining. |
