At the center of the photograph, in hat, is Manuel Salas.  One is Father Michael Garrigan, dressed in black. Chuck Miller is shown at left, and Father Michael Garrigan is in foreground at right. The photos shows the interior of the Wautoma office of Obreros Unidos (United Workers), the Wisconsin migrant farm workers' union. Displayed on the wall are signs, messages and an image of the Virgin Guadalupe on the left side. The banner on the left says in English, "It is better to die barefoot but standing than to live on your knees with shoes."
