Julius Engebretson
Head and shoulders portrait of Julius Engebretson, [also written as Julius Ingebretson Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20, published rosters: Wisconsin Volunteers: War of the Rebellion (1914) and Rosters of Wisconsin Volunteers, Volume 1 (1886)], a sergeant in Company I, 15th Wisconsin Infantry. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Scandinavia, Wisconsin. On December 24, 1861, he enlisted in La Crosse, Wisconsin and on February 13, 1862, he was mustered into service in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 22. He was discharged on October 01, 1863, at Island No. 10, Tennessee on disability because of chronic diarrhea. |
