Four Geological Sketches of Wisconsin
A series of four hand-colored, geological maps of Wisconsin. Starting from the top of the page, the first map is of a section along the line of the 4th principal meridian from Lake Superior to the Mississippi and a section along the 3rd correction line from the Mississippi River to 4th principal meridian. The second map is of a section on Black River from the granite at the falls to sandstone F1a. The third map is of the approximate section on the Montreal River in a course nearly southeast from Lake Superior to the trap. The fourth and final map (scale of height 200 is of a section of hills at the Chippeway red pipestone locality between the Chippewa and 15 miles north of Red Cedar rivers. |
