This map consists of four separate panels. The first illustrates the battlefield at Cedar Mountain on Aug. 9, 1862, where the 3rd Wisconsin Infantry fought. The other three panels illustrate the battlefield at Manassas during the Second Battle of Bull Run. The 2nd Wisconsin Infantry, 3rd Wisconsin Infantry, 5th Wisconsin Infantry, 6th Wisconsin Infantry, and 7th Wisconsin Infantry, having recently fought at Gainesville, provided the rear guard and protected the retreating Union army at the Second Battle of Bull Run, losing 588 men killed or wounded.
DESCRIPTION
