This map is a pen and ink tracing. Union positions are shown in blue and Confederate positions are shown in red. Roads, vegetation, and streams are labeled. The Battle of Averasboro was a prelude to the climactic Battle of Bentonville, which began three days later. Wisconsin units present at Averasboro included the 3rd Wisconsin Infantry, the 22nd Wisconsin Infantry, the 26th Wisconsin Infantry, and the 31st Wisconsin Infantry. |
