Four men with shovels turn over the first shovels full of earth at 611 Langdon Street, the site of the new Jewish student center. "Left to right are Rabbi Mas Ticktin, directer of Hillel Foundation; Gordon Smykin, president of the building corporation; Irving Rhodes, Milwaukee, a leader in the fund raising campaign, and I.J. Behr, Rockford, Ill., vice-president of the building corporation and brother of the late Louis Behr, for whom the center will be named." Behind them is a crowd. |
