Horse-Drawn Delivery Wagon and Driver
C.W. Jarvis' horse-drawn delivery wagon loaded with crates in front of 201 North Carroll Street, the location of the old Madison Public Library. He is sitting on the wagon seat, holding a buggy whip, gazing at the camera, and wearing work clothes and a hat. Painted on the wagon are the words: "Trunks," "Freight & Baggage" and "C.W. Jarvis." Some of the crates have labels, "Wisconsin Historical," "Library, Madison, Wis.," "Smith Premier Typewriter" and "United States Army, Q.M.C. Supplies, General, Must Not Be Delayed." |
