Henry Siegel

Waist-up seated studio portrait of Henry Siegel, a captain in Company A, 15th Wisconsin Infantry, in uniform, holding a sword across his lap. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Chicago, Illinois. On September 27, 1861, he was enlisted as a first sergeant and mustered into service on November 15, 1861, in Madison, Wisconsin. On September 22, 1862, he was detached from the company to serve as the brigade commissary sergeant. On September 16, 1862, he was promoted to first lieutenant. On October 13, 1863, he was place in charge of a supply train to Stevenson, Alabama. On October 19, 1864, he was commissioned a captain. He mustered out with the company on December 20, 1864, at Chattanooga, Tennessee. |
