Grape Boycott Picketing
On the left, Ernesto Chacon, is in sunglasses and holding a sign that says, "Don't Buy Grapes," picketing for the United Farmworkers/AFL-CIO grape boycott. Grape boycotts in Wisconsin were organized by the local farm-worker labor union, Obreros Unidos (United Workers),an independent farm worker labor union effort in the 1960s. The man on the right is holding a tomato box filled with grapes, possibly counter-picketing the grape boycott in front of a store. |
