Three-quarter length studio portrait of Iver William Tjentland a first lieutenant in Company E, 15th Wisconsin Infantry, in uniform. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Moscow, Wisconsin. On December 09, 1861, he was commissioned as a first lieutenant by the governor of Wisconsin and was mustered into service on December 10, 1861, in Madison, Wisconsin at age 33. He resigned his commission on September 3, 1862 and was accepted by General Ulysses S. Grant. |
