Emanuel Engelstadt
Vignetted head and shoulders studio portrait of Emanuel Engelstad t, a first lieutenant in Company A, 15th Wisconsin Infantry, in uniform. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Chicago, Illinois. On November 15, 1861, he commissioned as a first lieutenant by the governor of Wisconsin and was mustered into service at Madison, Wisconsin at age 35. On September 21, 1862, he resigned his commission and it was accepted by Major General Don Carlos Buell. |
