Original caption attached to the print: "Emil Jannings German actor arrived today. Emil Jannings, German actor who was born in Brooklyn in 1886 returned to his native land on the Hamburg-American liner 'Albert Ballin.' Mr. Jannings is bidding goodbye to Captain Wiehr, commander of the boat." Jannings, actually born in Switzerland, had come to the United States under contract with Paramount Famous Lasky Corporation to make motion pictures in Hollywood. |
