Quarter-length vignetted cabinet card portrait of Andrew Thompson [as written on backing of photograph; also written as Andreas Thompson Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20, published rosters: Wisconsin Volunteers: War of the Rebellion (1914) and Rosters of Wisconsin Volunteers, Volume 1 (1886)], a private in Company K, 15th Wisconsin Infantry. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Fillmore, Minnesota. On February 11, 1863, he enlisted in Fillmore, Minnesota and on February 11, 1862, he was mustered into service in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 24. He was listed as absent-sick in a general hospital in Farmington, Mississippi from July 21, 1863, to February 3, 1863. On February 11, 1863 until he was discharged on April 22, 1863, for disability he was in a hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. |
