Indian Council House and Statue

Exterior of the Indian Council House, erected about 1765, and a statue of Mary Jemison. Dedicated in 1910 by William Pryor Letchworth, the statue commemorates "the white woman of the Genesee," named because of her capture on the frontier of Pennsylvania during the French and Indian War in 1758 and adoption by the Seneca. |
