Lars Olson Dokken
Waist-up oval studio portrait of Lars Olson Dokken, a private in Company H, 15th Wisconsin Infantry in uniform holding a musket across his chest. The following information was obtained from Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Perry, Wisconsin. He enlisted on December 2, 1861, in Dane County and was mustered into service on February 13, 1862, in Madison, Wisconsin. He was severely wounded in the battle at Stone River, Tennessee and was sent to a hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. On April 1, 1863, he died in General Hospital No. 8 in Nashville, Tennessee of wounds received in action at Stone River. He was buried in the Nashville National Cemetery, Section E, grave No. 255. |
