A quote from Maude's (daughter's) reminiscence of her early life, "My Father together with some other young professional and business men bought lots on the shore of Lake Mendota where they built their homes. Ours was white brick built on top of a hill overlooking the lake and was just one of a number of white brick homes, grounds of which were separated by cinder drives and hedges." A reminiscence of Maude Agnes Rogers Hascall Taylor's early life can be found in SC 1442. Her father, William Henry Rogers, was Mayor of Madison and District Attorney of Dane County. Photograph loaned for scanning by Tom and Meredith O'Kelley of Tacoma, Washington. |
