Several adults, two children and a dog enjoying a pond at Bracken Brae, the country home of John Johnston (1836-1904), a successful Milwaukee banker. Hilda Johnston (1883-1974) and Jack Johnston (1884-1939), his two children, are on the island with their dog. Their mother, Ethelinda (Thorsen) Johnston (1856-1947), is in the foreground. Emma Thorsen (1862-1944), sister of Ethelinda, is standing on the raft floating in the pond. Two men are on the far bank. |
