John Colt of Janesville and one of the jurors, Rainey Bennett of Chicago, are shown with Colt's oil painting, "Burial Ground." Colt received the Mrs. Frances M. Marschall award for this painting. It is marked in distinctive planes, mostly in greys. Colt, a Wisconsin graduate, teaches in the Janesville Vocational school. The annual Madison Artists exhibition was held in Scanlan Hall. |
