The original typewritten caption reads: "Model 103 International motor truck equipped with wood W-12 body and F-6 hoist owned by H. Schwartz, contractor, Wyandotte, Michigan. Mr. Schwartz utilizes his motor truck chiefly in hauling cinders and excavating work. He has had a big subdivision contract. The truck has been in operation only since the middle of January. It operates about thirty-five miles a day over gravel and dirt roads. It carries about twelve yards of cinders to the load. Mr. Schwartz considers International service excellent. He likes the motor truck and is an International booster. Much of Mr. Schwartz's time is taken in hauling cinders from the Michigan Alkali Company, at Wyandotte, Michigan, to a new subdivision near Detroit. The dirt roads through the subdivision have been graded, but are quite soft. Nevertheless, Mr. Schwartz has experienced no difficulty in getting through with heavy loads. Mr. Schwartz especially likes the way his International with dump spreads the cinders. It makes a nice, even job, he declared. He said the truck is making money for him; he is having no trouble with it. He expects to buy another truck and a McCormick-Deering 15-30, which he intends to utilize in pulling a grader." |
