Photographer mislabeled the caption of this photograph. The October 1928 American Motorist magazine shows the Nellewood tied up at Devils Island with President Coolidge and the Woods family seated around a table. The Yacht "Nellwood", notice difference in spelling, was not built yet. Alan Born managed the family jewelry store in Ashland, Wisconsin. He also took hundreds of photographs of numerous locations in northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, producing postcards from many of the images. |
