The typewritten caption on the back of the photograph reads,"Affidavit of M.D. Stocking. Dated April 16, 1925. State of Illinois. County Of Ogle. SS. M.D. Stocking, of near Lindenwood, Illinois, being first duly sworn, deposes and says as follows: I am over sixty years of age and have been a farmer all of my life and have owned and operated my present farm near Lindenwood, Illinois, for over forty years.
In 1921, I purchased from International Harvester Company of America a four wheel 'International' tractor bearing Serial No.TG-135, which tractor has been in my continuous possession and in regular use b me on my farm since the date of purchase to the present time. I have used it this week for drawing a disk harrow and expect to keep it in regular use on my farm because it is in good operative condition. This tractor is the same in construction today as it was on the day that I purchased it in 1921: which is has had some minor repairs, the single integral frame of this tractor and the transmission mechanism thereof as embodied in this tractor at this time, including the change speed gearing, are the same identical parts except as worn parts have been replaced from time to time by duplicate parts, which were embodied in the tractor when I purchased the same in 1921.
The accompanying photographs, marked Nos.1, 2, and 3, are photographs respectively showing right and left side and front views of said tractor, and photograph No.4 is a photograph of a side front perspective view of the same tractor to which a disk harrow is hitched, all taken on my farm on April 15, 1935, by Harvey W. Olson of Rockford Commercial Studio of Rockford, Illinois, and I am the person appearing in the same photographs.
Affidavid of T.P. Kennedy. Dated April 30, 1935. State of Illinois. County of Winnebago. SS. 'M.D. Stocking, Lindenwood, Illinois,' indicates the name of the account. '9 26' stands for September 26: '1655' is the number of the invoice on which the tractor was invoiced or charged to Mr. Stocking. The 'R' indicates that the truck was delivered from the Rockford warehouse instead of direct from the factory. The item '1-15/30 Int. Gear D Tractor' indicates that the item charged was one 15-30 International Gear Drive tractor. The net amount charged for the tractor was $1320.00, as indicated by the amount shown in the 'Net' column, and the $31.68 entered in the 'Sundry Charges' column shows the amount of freight charged on account of tractor being delivered from the Rockford warehouse instead of from the factory. The amount shown in the 'DEBIT' column, $1351.68,' is the total of the charge for the tractor and the freight on tractor." |
