The original typewritten caption reads: "(Two photographs) -- Picture1. Model 63 International motor truck owned by The Western Maryland Lumber Company, Baltimore, and in service ten months. The truck is used every working day and averages about 45 miles daily. Up to date it has traveled considerably over 10,000 miles on the same tires at the time of purchase. During this period of operation, the motor has never been opened. The company does not operate any other types of motor trucks. The truck is frequently overloaded; in fact, Picture 1 shows a load weighing 8,500 lbs. The motor truck is equipped with a roll-off body. It operates about ten miles to the gallon and the oil consumption is very light. Thus far, there has been no expense for repairs. The driver, M.H. Dotterer, thought that the International is A-1. He said that most of the deliveries are made to building jobs on soft, new ground. He gets in so deep at times that the axle scrapes the ground. However, he declared he never worries about getting out. He said it is an enjoyment to get behind the wheel of an International." |
