Donald Ponsegrau submitted the following information about this photo via email May 7, 2015. "The man to the right is the Postmaster at Breed from 1938 to 1965, John Ponsegrau, my father. The little girl next to him is my sister, Jean Ponsegrau. The man in the middle is Severian Seidl. Next to him to the left is his sister, Dorthy Seidl, and the woman at the far left is Adela Seidl, Severian and Dorthy's mother (my father's mother-in-law). The photo was taken by Joseph Seidl and that is his wife and two children. He was from Hartford and started to take pictures in the Suring, Breed, Mountain area in about 1938, the year his daughter Claudia, and my father got married. From these pictures he made postcards and they were sold in business such as the General store in Breed, that my father, John, owned. Because of a fire, a lot of the negatives were lost. Joseph Seidl took a lot of pictures in the area and also in Hartford, Washington County, where he lived all of his life." |
