Erik Alfstad Knudson
Waist-up seated oval studio portrait of Erik Alfstad Knudson, a corporal in Company F, 15th Wisconsin Infantry, in uniform, holding his musket across his chest and bayonet sheathed on his side. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. On October 1, 1861, he enlisted in Manitowoc, Wisconsin and was mustered into service at Madison, Wisconsin on December 29, 1862, at the age of 26. He was appointed corporal on January 1, 1862. In July 1862, he was listed as absent-sick on muster rolls and noted as being sent to a general hospital. He died on August 2, 1862, on his way to a hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. |
