According to the Lakeside Annual Directory of the City of Chicago 1876, Arnold Bros. Market was owned by Herman, Theodore, and Adolph Arnold and was located at 145 West Randolph Street. The South Water Street Market was built on 13 acres of land in August of 1925 at the cost of 17 million dollars. The market was designed by B.K. Goodman & Company and featured 133 vendor stalls.
