Osten Rulland
Head and shoulders oval studio portrait of Osten Rulland [as written on published Roster of Wisconsin Volunteers] (1914) and on the Regimental Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20 “Blue Books”] ; written as Ostein Rulland Regimental Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20 “Red Books” and Roster of Wisconsin Volunteers, Volume 1 (1886), a private in Company E, 15th Wisconsin Infantry. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Portland, Wisconsin. On December 5, 1861, he enlisted in Monroe County, Wisconsin and was mustered into service in Madison, Wisconsin on December 10, 1861, at the age of 24. On June 11, 1862, he was listed as being left sick on Island No. 10 and sent to a General Hospital on July 28, 1865, in Farmington, Mississippi. He was discharged on October 11, 1862, in Cincinnati, Ohio for disability. |
