Three-quarter length oval studio portrait of Henry Knudson, a private in Company E, 15th Wisconsin Infantry, in uniform, cradling his musket with a bayonet attached. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Moscow, Wisconsin. On December 2, 1861, he enlisted in Iowa County, Wisconsin and was mustered into service in Madison, Wisconsin on December 08, 1861, at the age of 19. He was discharged on November 24, 1862, at Edgefield, Tennessee for re-enlistment into the 4th U.S. Cavalry. |
