Joyeux Noel!
| Holiday card with a soldier walking while carrying a child who is waving an American flag. The soldier is wearing a uniform and a campaign hat. Two children are on either side, one of which is waving to a couple standing near the road. A puppy frisks in front of them and a goose is standing near a sign. Everyone except the soldier is wearing wooden shoes. A cottage is on the right, on the left is a windmill. The illustration is inside a lined border. The text: "Joyeux Noel!" (Merry Christmas!) appears in the upper right corner. Below is typed: "From The Fly Paper" and below that is "France-1918". A sign by the side of the road with a bird perched on it reads: "Ville De St. Jean, De Monts, Vendee". Letterpress then hand tinted. |
