A Host of Good Wishes
A patriotic holiday card with the Statue of Liberty at the top with a wreath of holly behind her. She is standing on a red and blue bordered box that has the following verse inside it: "A host of good wishes, I'm sending to you, Tucked away in this (Thrift) Card, in it's red, white and blue; I know you'll approve of the gift I am sending, Since it's helping Our Boys in the cause they're defending." Below is a fasces over two olive branches. A fasces is a bundle of wooden sticks with an axe blade emerging from the center, symbolizing summary power and jurisdiction. When the card is opened, there is a narrow pocket on the left hand edge, so an item could be tucked inside. Letterpress then hand tinted. |
