Press release photograph showing a truck assembly line at International Harvester's Springfield Works. Original caption reads: "The starting point for new International light-duty and medium-heavy duty trucks - the north end of one of the main lines at International's Springfield, Ohio assembly plant. Frame rails for a new truck are shown being placed in position for the 2.5 hour trip down the line stretching 1600 ft. to the opposite end of the plant. The two lines currently in operation turn out 410 units per day, producing light-duty pickup or Travelall models every 1.77 minutes, and model 1600 or 1700 Loadstars every 2.64 minutes. The lines are supplied by over 11 miles of conveyor systems throughout the plant." |
