Leon Lamoreux (on the right) and an unidentified man stand outside of the Western Union Branch Office doorway, 650 State Street. The date is between 1937 and 1941. The store on the left is the State Street Food Store, (now Einstein Bros. Bagels). On the right is the Western Union Branch Office, (now Expresso Royale Cafe). During World War II, Leon and his wife, Beatrice, will teach typing and telegraphy to Naval students at the U.S. Naval Training School (Radio) in Madison. |
