Fletcher Family International Reunion
Mrs. Mary Ellen Fletcher used an inheritance to fly her mother and father in-laws from Birmingham, England to Madison to witness their sons graduation from mechanical engineering school at the University of Wisconsin. The family is shown seated, left to right, they are: Mary Ellen Fletcher, Mrs. Arthur James Fletcher with 10-month-old granddaughter Valerie, their son, Norman and Mr. Arthur James Fletcher with grandson Gregory, 2 years-old. Norman Fletcher was a "war groom" and British air combat veteran. Mary Ellen Fletcher was a WAVE in Florida, where she was a trainer instructor, and where they met in 1944. |
