Engraving of Connecticut Hall, Yale's first permanent building, completed in 1752. The engraving shows a front view of the original Yale building, and a fence, pedestrians, and a man on horseback before it. The text below reads, "To the Honorable Jonathon Law, Governor of Connecticut in New England, this Prospect of Yale College is humbly dedicated by his Honour's most humble Servant James Buck." Engraved and Printed by T. Johnston. Published by Charles E. Goodspeed, 1911. Re-engraved by Sidney L. Smith. Sold by I. Buck at ye Spectacles in Queenstreet, Boston. |
