Lucius Fairchild Post of the Grand Army of the Republic
Group portrait outdoors of the members of the Lucius Fairchild Post of the Grand Army of the Republic. The man fourth from the left (with the light hat) was identified as Charles Olsen, born around 1837 in Norway. He first served in the Norwegian, but when he emigrated to America, he served with the 15th Regiment, Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry. (The Scandinavian unit commanded by Colonel Hans Christian Heg during the Civil War.) The building in the background appears to be an Elk's Club. |
