A painting of 'The Charge of the New Market Cadets' by West Clinedinst (Clinedienst). The work commemorates the Battle of New Market that took place on May 15, 1864 during the American Civil War, and depicts Virginia Military Institute cadets fighting alongside the Confederates, ultimately leading to a Confederate victory. The painting, measuring 18 x 23 feet, is located in the Virginia Military Institute's Jackson Memorial Hall. It was unveiled in 1914. |
