H.T. Ferguson with a Curling Stone
H.T. Ferguson, veteran Madison curler, squatting with his hand on the curling stone handle, about to propel it. He is wearing a tam on his head. The club bought 66 new "stones" for almost $2,000. The granite to make the "stones" is fetched up from the bottom of the ocean off Scotland. The sea salt action makes the rock especially tough. |
