Belfrage Deportation
Cedric Belfrage (facing the camera and wearing a tie) talks to the staff of the "National Guardian" about his appearance before the McCarthy Committee at which he invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. Shortly thereafter agents of the U.S. Department of Immigration arrived to begin the process which ultimately expelled him. Co-editor John T. McManus stands in the doorway. |
