House of Miles Standish

The 1666 Dutch style house of Captain Myles Standish (c. 1584 – 10/3/1656), an English military officer hired by the Pilgrims as military advisor for Plymouth Colony, he was known as "the hero of New England." The building is shown in a country setting with the Myles Standish monument in the background, which was completed in 1898. |
