Original caption reads: "Scale model of the McCormick push-type corn binder. Experimental machines, both push- and pull-type were built in 1893, and shown at the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, Ill., in 1893. The machines were never put on the market. Part of the McCormick Historical Association Collections received by the State Historical Society in November, 1951." Image was likely taken for a series of feature stories on McCormick models published in the Wisconsin State Journal, Dec. 12, 1952 to Feb. 1, 1953. |
