Three Men Weighing Scrap Iron
Three men stand near a trailer while weighing in a load of scrap iron brought from a farm by William Gory (at far right). At left is Jim Barrett, manager of the Rickle Grain Company, which advanced cash to farmers for their scrap. Standing in the center with a pipe in his mouth, is Walt Sullivan, a county war board member. The Barton County, Kansas farm scrap drive netted 550 tons in the first week. |
