Shown from left to right are Vincent Peterson using crutches, the Reverend Jerome Mersberger, pastor of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, and Mickey Hall, seated in a wheelchair, shaking hands with Robin Roberts. Roberts was a baseball pitcher with the Philadelphia Phillies. He spoke to fans at the Loraine Hotel at a fund raiser sponsored by the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with all proceeds going towards the construction of a playground for the youngsters of Monona village and Blooming Grove township. |
