Roosevelt, Truman, and Wallace

President Franklin D. Roosevet, Vice-president elect Harry Truman, and Henry Wallace, the sitting vice-president, riding together in an open car shortly after the election. FDR, obviously ill and tired, died only a few month later, and Truman, about whom little was known by the public, became the President. Wallace had been dumped from the ticket, and an alternate and more frequently seen view of the event taken by Abbie Rowe, has been captioned to suggest that Wallace had relocated to the backseat. This view make it clear the three men were seated in a row. |
