"The Four Horsemen of Notre Dame" in Madison

Three of "The Four Horsemen of Notre Dame" attend a farewell dinner for Harry Stuhldreher at the Maple Bluff Country Club, twenty-six years after they helped form the most famous backfield of all time. Harry Stuhldreher had been athletic director at the University of Wisconsin for more than fourteen years. Left to right are Don Miller, Harry Stuhldreher, "Chuck" Collins and Elmer Layden. Chuck Collins was an end on the team. Jim Crowley, the fourth horseman, is not pictured. |
