The original caption reads: "3.5 to 7-ton truck, 215-inch wheelbase, equipped with a Failing Supply Co. Model 55 core-drilling and shallow-well-drilling rig and International PA-50 power unit. This outfit, owned b Geo. E. Failing Exploration & Drilling Co., 3429 Leland Ave., Houston, is drilling exploration hole, 4.5-inch diameter, 3,500 feet deep, in New Mexico. Total weight of truck and equipment, 36,500 pounds. The truck engine operates a Gardner-Denver 5 x 8-inch mud pump. The PA-50 operates the drawworks and the rotary table. This equipment has drilled a 4.5-inch hole, 2,000 feet dep, in 7 days, and it will take a 5-5/8-inch hole to a depth of 2,500 to 3,000 feet."
