The original caption reads: "International PA-100 power unit and Wilson double-drum spudder (made by Wilson Manufacturing Co., Wichita Falls, Texas) bringing in a 3,764-foot well in the K.M.A. field. Owned by Cato Oil Co., Inc., Henry Snyder Building, Wichita Falls, Texas. This equipment was used for drilling in, cleaning out, and running tubing. The small drum runs the sand line (bailer). This equipment can be set up in 2 hours and torn down in 1 hour. Old-type spudders take a full day to set up and a half day to tear down. It takes about 10 minutes for a round trip of the bailer, as against about 30 minutes with an old type of spudder. Two-inch upset tubing was used and 7-inch (o.d.) casing." |
