The original caption reads: "International PA-50 power unit and Fairbanks-Morse type turbine pump with geared head pumping 1,400 gallons of water per minute from irrigation well 130 feet deep owned by Home Hill of Hart, Texas. Equipment purchased January, 1938, and used 24 hours a day. Five gallons of gasoline costing 7 cents a gallon are used per hour. Lubricating oil costs 53 cents a gallon. Oil is changed every 50 hours and no oil is added between changes. Jack Kendall of the Amarillo branch is shown in this picture." |
