Royal Crown Cola Truck

A man parks an International Model L-160 truck owned by the Royal Crown Cola Company near stacks of empty bottles in crates outdoors at the company factory. Boxes of soda bottles are loaded onto the back of the truck. The original caption reads: "A recent purchase of the Nehi-Royal Crown Bottling Company of El Paso, Texas, is a Model L-160 International equipped with drop-frame chassis and special bottlers' body. It is shown at the company's place of business at 1916 Myrtle Avenue. Its wheelbase is 154 inches. The body was made by the P & R Body Company of El Paso. It is 12 feet long, has four decks, and has a total capacity of 235 cases. The company is a partnership consisting of R.R. Ritter, who is shown in one of the illustrations talking to help, Julian Murrufu; an dhis brother, W.P. Ritter, who heads a similar establishment in Phoenix. The El Paso fleet consists of 12 units and deliveries are made as far as Alamogordo, some 100 miles north. Four routes are maintained in El Paso with an average of 40 stops per route." |
